HAND TIED FLOWER ARRANGING AT KILCOAN GARDENS

Friday 12th May 10.00am-1.00pm

Come and enjoy a morning which begins with a tour of the garden and cut flower field. Back in the barn, relax with some home baked treats whilst learning how to properly condition your own flowers to last longer in the vase. You will then create your own beautiful hand tied bouquet with gift bag, using flowers from the garden, which you will then take home with you.

£39 includes all flowers, materials and light refreshments.

BALLYROBERT GARDENS. NATURALISTIC GARDENING AT ITS BEST

Saturday 13th May 1-00pm to 4-00pm.

Ballyrobert Gardens featured on BBC’s nationwide Breakfast Time programme in 2016 as an outstanding naturalistic style garden. This workshop will focus on how  design and upkeep have created a beautiful yet environmentally sustainable garden that merges with the surrounding landscape.

Learn how to build a Ballyrobert Gardens type wildlife motel !!

The workshop is suitable for those having the smallest or the largest garden.

Limited to 14.   The charge is £15.50 per person and this includes refreshments.

GREENMOUNT COLLEGE. HORTICULTURE IN MICHIGAN

Wednesday 17th May 3pm in Walled Garden Studio.

Horticulture staff and students from Michigan State University, who are on a study abroad programme, will give a talk on Horticulture in Michigan. This is a great opportunity to learn about horticulture an in another part of the world and find out about the different challenges they face. After the talk there will be an opportunity to visit the gardens at Greenmount and see the latest developments.

CREATIVE GARDENING AT KILCOAN GARDENS

Saturday 20th May 10.30am-12.30pm

Come and enjoy a morning which begins with a tour of the garden. We will focus on the transition from spring to early summer with advice on avoiding a “hungry gap” in the borders, by using bulbs and biennials. Back in the barn, Cherry will give advice on saving and sowing your own seed, with a seed sowing demonstration, whilst you relax with light refreshments.

£15 includes light refreshments.

PROPAGATION OUR WAY

Saturday August 19th 2017, 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Why not join the very popular propagation workshop at Ballyrobert Gardens where nearly all the plants for use in their beautiful gardens and those for sale in the adjoining plant centre are propagated.

Participants get the opportunity to expand their propagation skills under expert guidance. Maurice Parkinson with his wide knowledge of plants, and their propagation, will provide a hands on day for everybody to experiment with seed sowing, root cuttings, divisions etc.

Plant material and tools will be provided and participants can bring home their own propagules.
